Plot
The movie follows the story of Charlie Prince, an orphan living in his late mother's outdated karaoke bar, The Palace, which she willed to his acerbic and unloving stepfather Arthur. Arthur makes Charlie do lots of the work cleansing the bar; the opposite staff, couple Diego and Martha, love Charlie like their very own son while his stepbrothers, the egocentric Andrew and the nicer but simple-minded Lloyd, simplest annoy him. All 3 boys dream of being singers, and while Andrew and Lloyd lack ability (which Arthur is ignorant of), Charlie is vocally proficient and can write music, though he can not seem to catch a damage. Unwilling to give up, Kadee tracks down Charlie at The Palace and asks him to help. At the auditions, Reginald arrives and apologizes for not taking note of Kadee, promising to be extra receptive. Charlie also encourages Kadee, telling her once more "Be you," to her surprise. Andrew displays as much as audition and leads Charlie to his father, who locks him in a closet so that Andrew can pose as Rags, leaving Lloyd as only a backup singer. Though Charlie escapes with the assistance of Trumpet and Kadee's lady friends, he arrives just in time to look Andrew shake hands with Reginald Worth.
Heartbroken, Charlie packs his issues and plans to go away, but Kadee reveals him and pleads with him to stay till she introduces Rags.
